I AM SO FUCKING DONE

I’M DOING MY BIBLE “ETHICS” HOMEWORK AND HERE IS THE MOTHERFUCKING LAST QUESTION (FOLLOWING WINNERS SUCH AS  “How would you respond to an argument that people who are pro-life on the issue of abortion should be pro-life on all other issues such as capital punishment?” and “Is it right that a person who attempts suicide is not prosecuted (as one who attempted murder, for example)?”

AND I COME ACROSS THIS PIECE OF SHIT QUESTION

“Those who favor a woman’s right to choose an abortion call themselves “Pro-Choice.” What irony exists in labeling themselves with such a name?”

First of all, to get this off my chest from the get-go, FUCK YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON.

Now let me put my logic face on. Oh, I know. Coming from me, a woman, who disagrees with you, a man, I already have a less worthy opinion. Don’t worry, I’ll work to overcome it.

I understand that your lack of a uterus and incapability of becoming pregnant might cloud your judgment. It gets really easy rather quickly to shame for someone’s decision on something you will never experience, my dear teacher. So that explains your self-righteousness.
But beyond the fact that you are ignorant and have disrespected women, their bodies, their choices, their capabilities, and their judgment several times over in class, whether through slight remarks or general teachings, you are now denying women the right to make decisions. Because you somehow believe you can make better ones then they can, regarding their own bodies.
Tell me, sir, how do you feel about the number of unwanted, neglected, or abused children in the world? No? You want more of them? You want a woman to struggle to take care of a child she never wanted, after forcing her to carry it to term, and then leave her on her own, without welfare (which you don’t believe in) and without guaranteed access to healthcare, higher education, or other such aids?
But at the same time, gays shouldn’t adopt them, should they? Because they don’t believe what you do?
So what do you suppose we do with these children? You don’t want to tax the wealthy to take care of them. Where do you want all those billions of dollars to come from?

You care for the fetus, but disregard the woman and abandon the child.

Here’s a fun fact sheet for you:

44% of sexual assault victims are under the age of 18. 80% are under age 30.
Every 2 minutes someone in the United States is sexually assaulted.
Approximately 2/3’s of assaults are committed by someone known to the victim. 38% of rapists are a friend or acquaintance.
1 out of every 6 women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. In America that’s approximately 17.7 million women victims. In 2003, 9 out of every 10 rapes were female.
Out of those women in 2004-2005, approximately 3,204 women became pregnant as a result of rape. This discounts women who were on the pill, who suffered oral or anal penetration, rapists who used condoms, infertile victims, and incidents of penetration with inanimate objects.

So all of those women, who are already 3 times more likely to suffer from depression, 6 times more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, 13 times more likely to abuse alcohol, 26 times more likely to abuse drugs, and 4 times more likely to contemplate suicide, who you failed to protect not physically, but socially, in a manner of rape-culture and slut-shaming, you now want to force to undergo 10 months of pregnancy, not to mention cover hospital and doctor costs (which she may not be able to afford), go through the excruciating process of giving birth unwillingly, and then care for and fund another human being until they are able to support themselves? Oh and let’s not forget, an estimated 13 out of 100,000 women die during childbirth. But these reasons don’t just apply to rape victims.

And implying women are not reasonable or intelligent or moral enough to make decisions about their own bodies is not only dangerous and dehumanizing, but you also want to force these women to raise children while doing so?  In what world does that make any sense?

What do you want to do with the women who have an illegal abortion if you get your way? What punishment do they deserve?

Because newsflash: outlawing abortion doesn’t stop abortions from happening. It just stops abortions from being safe.

On demand and without apology.

THIS IS HOW CHRISTIANITY WARPS PERFECTLY GOOD BRAINS.

Good on you, thesearchforsherlock, for rising above the patriarchal oppression of the Christian establishment.

It’s quite terrifying that Christian fundamentalism could have a totalitarian-like control over curricula in this way.
